MOVIES OF THE SOUTH SEAS
Numerous adventure movies featuring the SouthSeas and the islands of the Pacific have been produced over the years, and a rare few done by some countries found in the Pacific or nearby Asian countries.....but the usual 'Hollywood interpretation' of: sandy beaches, shipwrecks, beautiful maidens(clad or unclad), buried or sunken treasures, pearls, pirates, mutinies, typhoons, sharks, cannibals, giant squids, etc. have prove successful over the years.....nearly every star or actress has done something in this genre but a lot of films are ignored or forgotten that deserve to be seen and appreciated.....whether boring, entertaining, or thrilling.... JOHN WAYNE, incidentally, remains the number one actor and one of the earlier ones, to have made such films, outdoing many others in numbers.....his output on films is amazing but the public still remains somewhat ignorant of his early works, including some of the westerns which are now being recycled and repackaged, probably making more money now that he is dead than when he was alive...everyone in the world,it would seem, knows of John Wayne who is attributed by many as 'winning WWII singlehandedly' and so on..
